This is the inside of the wall where the weather stripping will be mounted.
The weather stripping should be mounted to the inside of the wall.
It should overlap the bottom layer of weather stripping.
An additional strip of weather stripping is mounted to the bottom of the dam.
Ensure a tight yet flexible seal to accommodate minor shifts.
Cut the section against the dam 1 inch shorter on both sides for a snug fit.
Keep the top section flush with the dam’s edge for proper alignment.
For the wall-mounted strip:
Top edge flush with the surface.
Side near the dam: 1 inch shorter for flexibility.
Outer edge: 1 inch longer for a tight compression fit.
Proper alignment reduces water penetration risk.
Ensure bottom and wall sections meet seamlessly for a strong seal.
Regularly check adhesion as temperature and moisture changes may weaken it.
Reapply adhesive or add fasteners if needed to maintain durability.
