Take precise measurements to ensure a waterproof fit.

Consider both the door frame and structural frame placement.

For structure-mounted dams:

• Measure from the door face to the inner dam wall.

• Notch the rain guard to fit over both frames.

• Measure from the home’s outer wall to the end of the door frame, then to the door itself.

• Use these measurements to guide notch placement.

Leave a ¼-inch gap on each side of the door for a rubber seal.

Ensure the rubber seal fits snugly and bows slightly upward when compressed.

For frame-mounted dams, notching may not be needed.

Apply rubber stripping for a tight seal.

Secure the rain guard with wood screws into the dam wall’s support beam.
